Daniel Boone is a well-researched biography about Boone the man, the myth, the reality and other morsels of early Americana. There are so many little-known details that listening to Parker’s narrative becomes a crash course in American history, with some American literature thrown in for good measure. The text is very thorough and at times tedious, but the narrator’s style is relaxed and holds the listener’s attention. The presentation is excellent. This an appropriate purchase for specialized collections and those focusing on American history. S.G.B. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 93]
