FANDANGO AT THE WALL Creating Harmony Between the United States and Mexico

Award-winning author and producer Kabir Sehgal collaborated with renowned jazz artist Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra in Fandango Fronterizo, an annual musical event held on both sides of the border between San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. Historian Douglas Brinkley begins with a lengthy introduction to the project. Sehgal delivers his own fact-laden narrative in a steady voice as he discusses the history of U.S.-Mexican relations and the negative effects of the proposed border wall on the environment, culture, and trade. The wonderful music hovers faintly in the background at the beginning of each chapter; for more, jazz aficionados may wish to acquire the music CD.
