Narrator Lynn Barrington delights in Charlotte Darling's unconventional New York City romance. When Charlotte finds a passionate love note in a secondhand wedding dress made of pink feathers, she tracks down the man who wrote it--her new boss. Upscale real estate agent Reed Eastwood is portrayed by Sebastian York. For reasons unknown to Charlotte, Reed is now a cynical, disillusioned man who writes Charlotte only "hate notes." Barrington presents a lively, irreverent heroine who is up for anything and hoping for everything. She has good control of the awkward meet-cute scene, capturing all its humor. As Reed, York varies his emphasis to create a suave edge, conversational rhythm, and wry humor, making him a flawed yet romantic love interest. An enjoyable, seamless listen.
