Six narrators inhabit the wide spectrum of LGBTQ+ characters featured in these 17 short stories. Each story has a historical setting, ranging from fourteenth-century England to Massachusetts in 1999. Some include real-life events and personalities--"Molly's Lips" takes place at a fan vigil in Seattle following Kurt Cobain's suicide--and some are rooted in legend or fantasy. In Alex Sanchez's "The Secret Life of a Teenage Boy," narrator Christian Barillas captures the ache of a young man who hasn't yet told his Cuban family that he's gay and who yearns for a bigger life outside of his small Virginia town. While the individual performances vary in strength, as a whole, this inclusive collection ensures that many listeners, regardless of their own identities, will find characters or situations they can relate to.
