Nox patrols the desolate wastes of the land as an unofficial lawman meting out justice with lead and violence as he seeks his family's murderer. Bray juggles several distinct voices throughout the three books but none so distinguished as Nox's. The Coilhunter speaks with a growl that evokes classic Westerns. Between Wilson's writing and Bray's masterful narration, Nox becomes a nuanced hero and someone to root for as he helps the varied citizens of the wastelands. Bray effortlessly switches between voices and narrative for a radio-drama feel. The story itself is fun, and Bray's narration considerably enhances the experience. J.M.M.
