KHRUSHCHEV The Man and His Era

This massive volume details the life and times of the U.S.'s principal antagonist during the post-Stalin Cold War. Researched and written by a renowned American political scientist, it benefits from the opening of Soviet secret files and the author's own interviews with eyewitnesses, as well as his own thorough knowledge of the society, politics, and economy of the USSR. Since its publication, the book has been generally hailed as the definitive English-language biography of the Soviet premier. Noted mostly for his interpretations of popular fiction, Michael Prichard has a piercing but never strident voice. He places his text in the foreground and himself in the background. His patient, indefatigable pace well serves the text. The serious student will want the print version, with its illustrations and notes.
