CHAOS, A FABLE

Part sociopolitical commentary, part high-tech thriller, and part mystical fable, this audiobook packs a lot into a short listen. Narrator Malcolm Hillgartner introduces Rubirosa, a Mexican author who is attending a book fair in Tangier. An old friend asks him to decipher files on a memory card, and this request draws him into a intriguing and complicated plot intended to cause chaos around the world. The back-and-forth of the story and some of the characters can be complicated to follow, but ultimately Hillgartner transports listeners around the globe as the book asks thought-provoking questions about the impact of technology, the unintended consequences of political engagement, and the dangers of having too much power.
