DANCING THE CHARLESTON

Narrator Amy Enticknap portrays the innocence of a child in the 1920s. Mona and her aunt live in a small cottage on the Somerset estate. When Lady Somerset dies, questions arise as a new family member inherits the house. Enticknap uses her voice tone well to depict the curiosity, disappointment, and giddiness of a 10-year-old. Mona and the other characters are given distinguishable voices appropriate for their ages and stations. As Mona is invited inside the manor more and more and family secrets are revealed, Enticknap strongly depicts the upheavals of a girl who has discovered life-changing information.
