THE LION KING

In narrating Rudnick's novelization of the movie THE LION KING, Janina Edwards paints a beautiful verbal portrait of the Pride Lands, where the lions rule justly. In a voice as warm as sunshine, Edwards introduces listeners to King Mufasa and his queen, Sarabi, on the day they present their newborn cub, Simba, to the kingdom. Throughout the story, Edwards maintains a steady and upbeat pace, keeping listeners engaged as her measured tone reflects Simba's growth from naïve prince to lost son to returning king. While well-loved characters like Timon and Pumbaa are voiced in witty and humorous tones, others, like Scar and Shenzi, are voiced in low, dark timbres.
