GIANTS The Global Power Elite

This audiobook, first published in print two years ago, attempts to explain how the "global power elite" functions through government, institutions, corporations, and individuals. Kristoffer Tabori ably narrates, but much of what he reads are lists of asset management firms and their boards of directors, NGOs that support the (mostly) men who run the corporations and multinational institutions that maintain the status quo. Meanwhile, he argues, corporate media like NewsCorp, iHeartMedia, and Comcast and their advertising agencies promote the ideology of the elites that invest in them. While well researched by the author, a professor of political sociology, and well delivered by Tabori in an energetic narration, this does not make for engaging reading, let alone listening.
