English author Elizabeth Ferrars embarked on her career as a writer in l940, composing more than seventy novels until her death in l995. DOUBLY DEAD is one of her many crime stories. Hugh Walters proffers an exemplary reading of this mystery. Journalist Margot Dalziel is missing and later found murdered. The possibilities for her disappearance and subsequent death are numerous. Walters disperses the anxiety, fear and curiosity of relatives, friends and local villagers as the investigation advances.
