TALKING ANIMALS

by | Read by Edoardo Ballerini

Fiction • 6.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2020

Many consider New York City to be the greatest city on earth. Many consider George Orwell's ANIMAL FARM to be a great allegory. And a strong case can be made for Edoardo Ballerini being one of the great audiobook performers. Combine all three, and you have a fun and engaging listen that is, at times, depressing and disturbing, at other times, hopeful and hilarious. TALKING ANIMALS, not surprisingly, tells the tale of a New York City populated by animals--but not the human kind. Ballerini does a fantastic job setting the right tone of sincerity and seriousness while also portraying the main character, Alfonzo, a lovable, irascible alpaca who is just trying to get his dissertation done and move on with his life. This is a fantastic story and a masterful performance. J.P.S. © AudioFile 2020, Portland, Maine [Published: SEPTEMBER 2020]
