Book Three of ABRAM’S DAUGHTERS portrays Leah, one of four Amish sisters, as a tender innocent with a profound faith in God. However, she experiences a crisis of faith when she learns of her sister Sadie's betrayal with her intended husband. In a novel rich with Amish tradition and family values, Aimee Lily skillfully depicts Pennsylvania Dutch accents, along with different genders and ages. The moving death of Leah's mother and subsequent birth of little Abe bring tears and are well dramatized.
