Enso Rivera, a thug suffering from the violent dementia of end-stage syphilis, will stop at nothing to get his son, Allesandro, the one thing he wants in life: to be a champion jockey and ride Archangel in the Derby. In this BBC dramatization, the daily life of a training stable is vividly presented with nickering horses and the thundering sounds of hooves as horses run the track.
