Listeners join DCI Robert Kett, who's heading to Norwich to start a new life with his three young daughters following his wife's disappearance. When a girl goes missing while delivering newspapers, Kett is unwillingly dragged into the investigation. Narrator Tim Bruce is a great match for this contemporary mystery, as he allows the humor in the young family's antics to shine along with the growing tension. Bruce brings the different police officers to life, contrasting the mix of world-weary and fresh, enthusiastic personalities with ease. He presents strong characterizations throughout, from Kett's young and boisterous daughters to the story's antagonists. Bruce achieves the perfect balance between lightheartedness and suspense.
