EDSEL A Novel of Detroit

A newshound-manqué in Detroit is hired to publicize Ford's soon-to-be-unveiled Edsel. Garrick Hagon approaches the wise-cracking first-person narration in a Philip Marlowish affectation. He reads well enough, though you hear some weird pronunciations. Neither has he much sensitivity to mood, atmosphere and the book's architecture.
