MORGANA MAGE IN THE ROBOTIC AGE

Narrator Roisin O'Neill illuminates a futuristic city whose inhabitants use the latest technological advances. In contrast, the witches and warlocks living in the woods nearby prefer sorcery. Listeners meet 11-year-old Morgana Mage, who dislikes magic and goes to a city school to learn about the automation her people oppose. O'Neill masterfully presents Morgana's determination as she straddles both these worlds. Things improve when classmate Jonathan, who is appealingly rendered, helps her adjust to her new environment. Most enjoyable is meeting diverse robots, particularly Morgana's mechanical kitty. It's chilling when the robots revolt, intending to enslave the humans until the city folk and witches realize they must unite to overcome the threat.
