PIERRE'S NOT THERE

Narrator Maisy Wright-Smith enthusiastically introduces contemporary Sydney, Australia, and Lara, who has an adorable Aussie accent. This tale of magical transformation is presented as a narrative and a stage play. Listeners are transported when Lara meets abandoned Pierre in the attic of the house her mother is cleaning. Lara helps Pierre, who is using an enchanted puppet stage in hopes of finding his missing family. Each quaint character is well drawn, especially Lara, who becomes a dog as their play begins. They rescue an old horse whose feisty personality adds to the adventure. After countless obstacles it's thrilling when they find Pierre's family and Lara awakens from her dream--or was it?
