NOTHING LIKE THE NIGHT

Second in the Stella Mooney series, memorably begun last year with THE DEAD SIT ROUND IN A RING, this dark, chilling police procedural takes us into the mind of the pure psychopath as it details the horrors of a team of vicious serial killers. Julia Watson’s narration serves to keep this novel unsanitized, presenting a psychodrama that, despite its atrocious cruelty to humans and animals, is chillingly devoid of rage. Like Stella’s predilection for vodka over ice because it “feels like a cold kick,” Watson’s reading provides the listener with no less of an experience.
