THE RESTLESS HEART

The author of several excellent books on the spiritual journey writes about loneliness. His message, based on a twenty-year-old book, is both practical and theological; Rolheiser is as comfortable with popular culture as he is with Catholic theology. He has a way of discussing our need to connect with others that sounds wholesome and perfectly understandable. In his hands, what can seem like repellant neediness appears as a quest for healthy union and a desire to give to others. While the author's natural voice is earthy, in this audio Paul Smith offers a more civilized rendering, which nevertheless conveys much of the author's street-wise attitudes and demeanor.
