THE TIGER BONE THIEF

Jimmy Stoker, whom some may know from Kidd’s THE GREAT GOLDFISH ROBBERY, has a new weekend job at the zoo, along with his friend, Billy. The two have been hearing rumors about someone wanting to steal the bones of Boris, a Siberian tiger who’s died, and soon Jimmy is back on the detective beat. In addition to being a fun mystery for kids, this story addresses small-mindedness and ignorant racism, offering parents an opportunity to discuss the subject of racial slurs with children. As in GOLDFISH ROBBERY, Brian Bowles does a fine job managing a repertoire of adult and child voices while sustaining the tension of the mystery.
