Set after the Napoleonic Wars, this historical regimental stars one Matthew Hervey, a British soldier sent to Portugal to help prevent a civil war there. Authentic period detail serves as background to Hervey's exertions on behalf of his duty, his career, international politics, skullduggery, and romance. Erick Graham narrates like a sergeant standing at attention while reporting to the commander, a vocal style somewhat suitable to the content, albeit not particularly interesting.
