Viewed through the scrim of adolescent imagination, cowboys as well as Indians seem equally stereotypical--but then, they are plastic figures brought to life. The plot--occurring as it does in two arenas--is less easy to follow in audio format than was the first volume. But the breakneck pace of the action and the cliff-hanger chapter endings make this a seat gripper--the audio equivalent of a page-turner. The author reads briskly, with just enough differentiation in the voices to help listeners sort out the cast of characters. A solid production of a popular favorite. K.T.B.
