Listeners enjoy bumbling news reporter Andy Caplet, who recounts dual storylines: a mystery in Asia and a housing problem in Sorenchester. Campbell shines as the gruff-voiced Inspector Hobbes, a hairy cryptid (a creature whose existence is unsubstantiated) who frequently rescues clumsy Andy. Each eccentric character is well rendered, and wordplay and misunderstandings run rampant. Colorful descriptions of both locales add to the atmosphere.
