CHONBURI INTERNATIONAL HOTEL AND BUTTERFLY CLUB

With sensitivity, courage, and easy humor, transgender advocate and playwright Shakina Nayfack takes listeners on a tour of Thailand's Chonburi International Hotel. There, a fascinating group of transgender women, portrayed by a capable ensemble that includes nine transgender actors, have gathered to recuperate after gender confirmation surgery, sometimes known as gender reassignment surgery. Healing comes in many forms--from the physical to the emotional to the spiritual, and newfound friends from Australia (Kate Bornstein), Israel (Ita Segev), and Thailand (Ivory Aquino) send the newest member of the club, Kina (Nayfack), off in a good direction with plenty of support, love, and words of wisdom.
