Matt Weisgerber narrates the first entry in a unique and entertaining sci-fi adventure. Kalin is a typical college student who is eager to join the popular group. When he breaks into a branch of a galaxy-spanning company, he discovers that it is growing and training human clones to function as sentient tools. When he's captured and forced to fight to keep his identity, his family and friends believe him to be dead. Weisgerber smoothly transitions among carefully tuned voices that capture the characters' personalities. The story has some darkness to it, but the naïveté that Weisgerber gives Kalin dampens some of the horror. This is an intriguing psychological suspense set in a science-fiction universe.
