ACCIDENTAL HAPPINESS

When Gina loses her husband, she reacts by making her own life smaller, pulling away from attachments and moving from their house to their boat. Hers seems to be a life of significant losses, early deaths. As this novel opens, however, Gina is forced onto a new path in an unlikely way. When she hears an intruder late at night, she is consumed by fear and fires a gun at the sound, hitting an unexpected target. What could have been yet another tragedy is actually a hopeful turn. Staci Snell provides an eloquent, effortless reading of this engrossing novel. Her voice captures the nuances of the characters and the South Carolina setting with seeming ease.
