This recent releases from Dover's read-along series, Listen &Read, has mixed success. The text does give narrator Gil Silverbird an impossible task. Silverbird is a practiced narrator, praised for his performances of Tony Hillerman's stories but these Indian Legends are full of stilted phrases and impossibly obsolete words. Silverbird is never allowed to spin a story. The title might have benefited from adaptations as the spoken recording fall short of the potential of Silverbird's voice.
