Annie and Max Darling are invited to what sounds like a luxurious country weekend--with one stipulation. Max is to determine who murdered the owner of Golden Silk, a private island and the place where the murder occurred. Kate Reading's melodious and dramatic delivery is perfect for the charming Darlings and the large old-fashioned Southern household. Hart's books overflow with description and chatty characters, and both are unquestionably enhanced by listening rather than reading. This story is Christie-like in its cast of eccentrics marooned on an island with a murderer. Those who prefer quaintness in a modern mystery will be most pleased.
