The authors discuss how the scientific community gradually came to agree that dinosaurs were probably wiped out by a giant meteorite. They also consider the probability of similar events in the Earth’s future. In the tradition of the best popular-science writing, the Gribbins make their subject engaging and accessible without trivializing or sensationalizing it. Richard M. Davidson has a rich, pleasant voice and reads intelligently, with all the animation the material allows. This is about as lively and interesting as a hard-science audiobook can get.
