This uniquely presented romantic account presents the fifty-year friendship of two Dubliners, Rosie Dunne and Alex Stewart. In a series of letters, emails, faxes, and instant messages, we travel the years as Alex moves to Boston, marries, divorces, and becomes a heart surgeon, and Rosie bears an illegitimate daughter, marries a cheating husband, divorces, and at long last, finds true love with Alex. What becomes sluggish and boring on the printed page is transformed into a small romantic masterpiece in the voices of the four superb narrators. This is definitely better heard than read.
