Tamika Katon-Donegal captivatingly narrates the second book in the Nena Knight series. Nena is a female assassin whose missions are intended to protect her high-ranking political family. Katon-Donegal narrates with precision and care. This plays well, given the nature of the main character. She is a protector who is extremely disciplined yet conveys warmth to loved ones. Katon-Donegal especially shines at the hints of sarcasm Nene tosses toward her witty pregnant sister. She masterfully employs different accents--British, African, and American. Even within those broad nationalities, she geographically localizes the dialects. There are humor, drama, and continuous thrills in this crime story.
