FLAMEDRAGON'S DANCE

Gary Martin seems to have set out to stuff every mythical beast ever invented into this amiable fantasy adventure, in which two children thwart a great Evil. Tolkien it isn't, but it's good fun. It's a mistake to expect something special to happen automatically when a writer reads his own work. It's possible to be a fine writer and a poor speaker. But Martin happens to read his own work very well. He's lively and pleasant, with a good range of character voices.
