Alison Larkin delivers a lively rendition of this collection by a young Jane Austen--specifically, letters and a play written when she was a teenager. In a crisp English accent Larkin performs Austen's wry commentaries with alacrity. Larkin is adept at bending her voice to suit the tone of each work, but, for some, the collection may be better suited to print than to audio. Indeed, the pace of the audiobook is so headlong as to potentially leave listeners behind. While casual listeners may have trouble immersing themselves, devoted Austen fans will delight in diving in.
