THE PHANTOM Rise of the Warlords, Book 3

Max Bellmore returns to narrate Book 3 of the Rise of the Warlords series, set in a modern world in which Roman mythological deities and creatures are real, appearing as humans. Roux, son of Mars, has never desired another person until he sees the harpy Blythe during an invasion. After he slays her consort in the battle, she swears to avenge his death. When Roux is tasked with capturing the queen of an ancient realm that is full of some of the most dangerous female immortals, he doesn't expect Blythe to join those battling for the crown. Though his voice is pleasant, Bellmore's steady pacing and slight inflections do little to reflect the tension throughout Roux and Blythe's story, especially when coupled with nearly undetectable differences in the characters' voices.
