SISTERS OF THE LOST NATION

Elva Guerra portrays Anna Horn, an Indigenous teen who lives on her tribe's reservation and cleans at the local casino. Haunted by her people's myths and bullied by classmates and family alike, Anna becomes witness to the strange disappearances of young women who visit Suite 808 of the casino. When her tormentor and younger sister, Grace, becomes one of the missing, Anna risks everything to face her fears, find out what's going on, and bring Grace home. Guerra's measured pace and level tone perfectly depict a victimized teen who is seeking to make a difference and to be heard. Guerra's tone accurately paints the monotony and despair of reservation life.
