RESCUE PARTY

Benevolent aliens, alerted to the imminent destruction of planet Earth, fly thither on a rescue mission. This fine reading of Arthur C. Clark's short story lies upon an electronic music bed. Composed and performed by the producer, the score adds little but, fortunately, does not detract. Gravelly voiced Jim Gallant begins the story a bit too fast but soon slows to a brisk, energetic, and expressive pace. A "bonus" CD contains an hour of original electronic music.
