TROUBLESOME ANGELS AND FLYING MACHINES

by | Read by Richard Mitchley

Children Ages 10+ • 4.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2004

Without musical accompaniment or sound effects, this production features Richard Mitchley's subtle British voice as he delivers the story of the great-nephew of Marco Polo, Blanco Polo, who dreams of building and piloting a flying machine. Teenagers Blanco and Eva are thrown together by circumstances beyond their control, and when a wealthy man offers to sponsor Blanco's project, they all take a long journey. At first, Blanco's voice reflects his displeasure at having Eva tag along. However, Eva's wide-eyed innocence, credibly delivered by Mitchley, soon wins him over. While Mitchley doesn't voice all the story's characters, his delivery of this romance doesn't detract from the story. A.G.H. © AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/NOV 05]
