HOW TO BE LOST

by | Read by Carine Montbertrand, Katherine Kellgren

Fiction • 7.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2004

Caroline Winters is lost, nearly as lost as her sister, the long vanished Ellie, who disappeared as a child and whose absence still haunts the family. Carine Montbertrand offers a fine performance as Caroline, giving her the tough exterior she needs to protect her tender heart. Most of the narrative shifts are done smoothly, and the characters come through with distinctive voices. Only occasionally does a minor character’s voice seem out of place, and even that can be overlooked. Perhaps the best element of Montbertrand's narration is her interpretation of Agnes, whose endearing letters nearly steal the show. Caroline's search for her sister is one the listener must follow right to its end. L.B.F. © AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC 05/ JAN 06]
