Thirty years after her 1963 classic, The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan focuses on aging. Read by Friedan herself, The Fountain of Age, “glimpses new possibilities and new directions” for aging in both men and women. Friedan’s distinctive, gravelly voice lends itself well to her writing style. The pace at times seems slow, but Friedan’s voice is expressive.
