Mixing a child-like tone with seriousness, Critt amuses the listener with her portrayal of a ten-year-old girl who is clearly wise beyond her years. Anastasia's continually changing list of likes and dislikes and her fascination with warts sound even funnier in an earnest-sounding voice. With all silliness aside, Critt voices Anastasia's maturity as she discusses the meaning of poetry with her father and the effects of age on her grandmother.
