GEORGE & ELIZABETH: A ROYAL MARRIAGE

by | Read by Frances Jeater

Biography & Memoir • 8.75 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1983

David Duff presents a most interesting glimpse into the life of the royal couple whose successful, loving marriage achieved a relatively normal life. Because the principals were so different, one would suspect a marriage of convenience, at best. However, Duff profiles their personalities so well that the listener realizes this was not the case. Narrator Jeater handles the many characters, accents and backgrounds wonderfully. The biography begins with the subjects as children; Jeater does childlike voices, as well as those of Queen Victoria and a Cockney woman. A wise purchase as a biography but also as an inside view of WW II from the British perspective. S.G.B. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: JULY 94]
