SNAIL BOY AND THE TOILET BOTS

The sparkling Nigel Lambert shines with this timely story. Connor is delighted when Grandad agrees to try out a modern home in which the elderly can remain independent with the help of robots. Chief among them is Nurse Bot, who monitors Grandad’s every move. Lambert characterizes the overly responsible robot with a heavy Scots accent. He expertly mimics the kids, Grandad himself, and Nurse Bot’s constant refrain, “Nanny knows best.” Soon Grandad is held prisoner by Nurse Bot, and Connor must rescue him. When Nurse Bot develops a crush on Grandad, she develops an American southern accent, which adds to the hilarity and further demonstrates Lambert’s skill.
