LOST IN THE AMAZON

On a photo safari in the Peruvian jungle, Kirkpatrick, two other adventurers, and two guides lose their way. They survive heat, insects, starvation, raft sinking, and the loss of a camera. Bearers abandon them, but Kirkpatrick's faith never does. While Kevin King does an energetic job describing their plight and voicing the other travelers, he inexplicably does not give the Mississippian a Southern accent. When you hear the author's voice in a follow-up interview, you wonder why he didn't read the whole thing himself.
