Peter Noble's stylish narration is perfectly matched to this fast-paced thriller translated from Danish. Freelance investigator Thomas "Ravn" Ravnsholdt calls on his experience as a former member of Copenhagen's special crime unit when a wealthy Danish businessman commissions him to find Jakob, his cult-leading son. When Ravn's investigation uncovers the fact that a previous investigator disappeared while working on the case, Ravn heads into rural Denmark and into danger. Noble's characterizations of the many larger-than-life characters are strong; he uses a variety of rich accents to highlight the different personalities. In particular, his portrayal of Ravn is spot-on. He creates a believable character who, although weighed down by grief, has a strong conviction to do the right thing.
