January LaVoy and Robert Petkoff narrate a historical drama full of magic. From a young age, Pamela Colman Smith has had the gift of seeing magic around her. Her skills eventually bring her to the attention of the Order of the Golden Dawn, a secret society based in London, and through them an exciting opportunity arises. Both narrators expertly balance the magical happenings that occur and the historical framework of real events and people. LaVoy and Petkoff excel at the many accents needed for the large cast of characters. Especially noteworthy is Petkoffs slight Irish accent for Bram Stoker and LaVoy's Jamaican patois for Pamela's nanny. Their narrative styles seamlessly blend to create harmonious and compelling listening. K.M.P. © AudioFile 2024, Portland, Maine [Published: JUNE 2024]
