Narrator Kitty Bang draws the listener into the romance between television production assistant Anika Fox and Luca St. Marten, the king of a small European country. Hoping to bring tourists back to his country, Luca has agreed to be part of a reality dating show. Anika starts as a production assistant but ends up as a contestant. Luca and Anika met prior to the show, but she doesn't know he's a king. Bang gives Luca a hint of a British accent, adding to his appeal. Anika is down-to-earth, and Bang aptly conveys this. She also masterfully voices the various contestants, giving one a naïvely hopeful tone and another a bitchy one. Bang's performance reveals all the emotions of the situation.
