COME TO ME Stories

Narrated by the author, this collection of 12 short stories, a finalist for the National Book Award, is an exploration of being human--the good, the bad, and the ugly. The accounts of love, loss, family, passion, and heartbreak are enhanced by Amy Bloom's experience as a psychotherapist. Her pacing and conversational delivery engage listeners, as does the diversity of the works. Particularly compelling are "Silver Water," "Love Is Not Pie," and "Faultlines," but each selection features well-developed characters who are on very personal journeys. Like life itself, many of the stories end somewhat abruptly or seem unfinished, but each offering will leave listeners anticipating what might come next.
