The second Agnes Sharp adventure receives a lighthearted narration from Moira Quirk. The octogenarian residents of Sunset Hall are tired of all the inconveniences in the village of Duck End, so when ditzy Edwina wins a vacation at a posh hotel in Cornwall, they all book rooms to chaperone her. Amid the luxury, Agnes witnesses what might be a murder. Quirk maintains the suspense while allowing the residents' idiosyncrasies to amuse listeners. When a storm isolates the hotel, Quirk inserts light touches into the serious business as Agnes and her pals uncover more bodies. Thanks to Quirk's performance and despite a lot of aches, pains, and tenuous grasps on reality, the Sunset Hall sleuths manage to bring everything to a satisfying conclusion. Much fun.
