Golden Voice Soneela Nankani projects the conviction of Indian leader Mohandas Gandhi in making a case for and following through on a world-changing march to demonstrate resistance to British colonial rule. Neal Bascomb provides a detailed and authentic narrative drawn from oral history, newspapers, and sources that allow listeners to understand the frustration felt by Indians, along with the genius in Gandhi's plan to bring attention to it with a nonviolent protest. A narrative largely limiting Nankani to a recounting of the story does not prevent her from sharing the importance of the march, along with the difficulties endured by the participants along the way. Gandhi's motivation and ongoing inspiration around the world make this a piece of history well worth sharing. E.J.F. © AudioFile 2025, Portland, Maine [Published: MAY 2025]
